Goals for the Meeting

  • Define and create a timeline for the milestones and deliverables for the year.
  • Deep dive into the various aspects of the project: Theory, Experiment, Math and Algorithmic Development, and Computing and Visualization.
  • Focus on developing the full machinery for 1D femtoscale imaging and finish the toy example.
  • Current challenges include: Bayesian inference and calibration, scalability, and automatic differentiation.

Meeting Location and Catering

  • On Thursday the meeting will be held in building 201, room 102. The building is very close to the cafeteria so I thought we can just get lunch there. However, coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided.
  • On Friday and Saturday the meeting will be in the TCS conference center, which is in building 240 and very near the entrance to Argonne.
  • Both building are in the 200 area at Argonne and the map linked below has there locations.
  • On Friday lunch will be provided, together with coffee, tea, etc.

Site Access

Please note, in-person participants will require Argonne site access, which means you MUST have one of the following:

  • A valid Argonne employee or APS user badge.
  • A pre-approved gate pass for site access arranged through this meeting registration.

If you do not have one of these, all US or non-US citizens MUST complete the ANL Site Registration: QuantOm Collaboration Meeting 2022. Please indicate "QuantOm Collaboration Meeting 2022"  as the purpose of your visit. To ensure your access to the Laboratory, complete this form as soon as possible. [The last day for non-U.S. citizens, in-person or remote, to register will be October 7th, 2022, after that, we cannot guarantee approval of the necessary paper work.]

Non-US citizens: Please do not begin registration until you have your immigration and naturalization documents available that establishes both your identity and legal immigration status (e.g., passport, visa, EAD card, I-20, DS-2019, I-797, or any other supplemental status documentation required to confirm your identity and legal immigration status). The Department of Energy also requires current and complete CVs/resumes in PDF format to accompany the registration form.

More information regarding site access can be found here and if you have questions please contact Paula Dahlberg.

Accommodation

On site accommodation is available at the Argonne Guest House [web]. Nearby off site accommodation options include:

  • Chicago Marriott Southwest at Burr Ridge [web]
  • Aloft Bolingbrook [web]
  • La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Chicago Willowbrook [web]

A car would be required to stay at these hotels.
